We have had numerous users requesting better communication of the activity expiration date. Our users (for various reasons) tend to by their courses 5-10 at a time. It is clear during the purchase process what the expiration date is. However, when they look at their pending activities to prioritize which one they want to take first the expiration date is not prevalent. A user must click into each course, making note of the expiration date. This can be time consuming for the user, or admins if requested. Would it not be possible to add the expiration date to the list of pending activities? This would also help prevent users from missing out on courses that they have purchased but expire before completion. Heather Ranels/ ASTRO ---

We’d be on board with this addition, too. A lot of people let things expire, and not being sure of the date could play into this. We would also love for there to be a search field on this page so people can more easily find courses they’re looking for. ---

That would be a good addition to Pending Activities. We send a reminder letter out 60 days before a course expires, so people aren’t caught unaware. So far, we haven’t had too many people ask for an extension. Patricia ---

You give extensions? The only time we do that is if there was some catastrophe or someone had a baby. Otherwise, it expired, you’re out of luck. We do send out reminders, but only for the paid courses. We don’t have the time or manpower to worry about the free stuff (which is a huge chunk of our online content). ---

Which then brings up another good point: has anyone set up an auto-reminder email for online, longer-term courses that are nearing the end of their shelf life? What has been your experience with this? ---

Thanks Gail - I was just about to ask that. We tried, but found that the sending of the reminders was contingent on the user logging on. It created a lot of confusion, so until we have a better understanding of how they work, we have put that idea on hold. ---

We give extensions as long as the content is less than 3 years old (per our ANCC requirements.) But in 2018, we are going to be a lot more rigid and use the EthosCE available to date as it was meant to be used. ---

No experience with it but that would be a really great benefit for our users as well! ---
