# How to display license numbers on certificate

Does anyone have license numbers on their certificates and what are the steps to do so?  
New York Social Workers is requiring license numbers to show

We do have an RN license number on some of our certificates. We took the following steps:

1. Requested a “license number” field addition to the registration page. This also requires existing users to fill in that field once it is added, the next time they log in.
2. Added a field to the accreditation section of whichever certificate templates require them - Learner license number: [user:profile-profile:field-custom-license]

- This is added directly after the accreditation statement.

1. Clear all certificate snapshots for existing courses, if you need to have them for previously completed courses.
