EthosCE 7.98 Released

EthosCE Version 7.98 was released to test sites on November 5, 2025, and will be released to production sites on November 12, 2025.

Included in this release:

Additions
CORE-5383: Expose course profile blocker for staff configuration. Staff can now configure an enrollment blocker based on the value of a user’s profile field. This change reduces reliance on the engineering team.

Fixes

CORE-5408: Fix autocomplete matching for entries with special characters in MOCA content outline. When doing data entry for the “ABA MOCA Content Outline” under the ACCME tab of a course, the autocomplete feature was not working.

CORE-5413: Fix some report exports accidentally combining rows. When downloading the CSV files for reports such as the Global Course Report or RSS Group Report, the results were not as expected.

Changes
CORE-5407: Remove anonymous user access to email forward form. This change restricts the “forward a link to a page” feature to logged-in users.

CORE-5423: Skip board ID check for ACCME boards where it is optional. We have added logic to our specialty board reporting, and EthosCE now skips a validation check for specialty boards that do not require a board ID when reporting through ACCME.

@Joel for CORE-5383, is this something that we would find in the Web UI? Does it need to be enabled by support? Would we find this in the course settings > pre-requisites or somewhere in the profiles area? It sounds like a great enhancement and it would be great to learn more. Thanks!

Hey Dave,

The EthosCE Support team can set this for you. It is not exposed to Site Admins. We typically see this setting used with the profile field that manages credit mapping. This ensures a learner’s eligibility is established before they can access a course.

I will note that due to the complexity of the Boards Collection field, it cannot be used as the enrollment blocker. I hope this helps!
