Performance issues with Site

I filed a ticket but was curious of anyone else is experiencing performance issues/degradation on their EthosCE site. Performance is slow for any action we are taking during configuration, we are getting 504 Gateway timeout errors and messages saying the site is Temporarily Unavailable, our pingdom performance monitoring system is getting 503 service unavailable errors, and our api calls to EthosCE are getting errors.

Yes! We’re getting 504 Gateway timeout errors as well. Site is very slow and glitchy. Glad to hear you put a ticket in, so i’ll hold.

You may still want to file your own ticket. Mine still has not been picked up (maybe if they see multiple customers are having the same issue it will be escalated).

We are also having issues - Gateway timeout issue when attempting to download a csv file, other glitchy issues.

We get sporadic periods where 504 gateway errors pop up. It’s never been clear to me if there is any rhyme or reason for it.

It doesn’t seem like we’re currently having this problem, but we’ve definitely seen it before.

We also get this sporadically with our scorm files.

Hi all,

Thank you for your comments.

I wanted to respond here with an update. Over the past months, we’ve observed an unprecedented growth in traffic originating from AI bots. This “AI gold rush” has led to a dramatic increase in both the number and intensity of indexing activities across our platforms.

Although EthosCE does scale with traffic, it can take several seconds to do so, and even then, traffic may spike suddenly, only to dissipate and then repeat in ways that can impact end-users’ experience.

We want to assure you that we are aware of and working to improve the platform’s ability to prevent disruptive bot traffic. We have made a significant investment in tools to help address this that will be rolling out in the months to come.

However, solving this problem is not as simple as just blocking AI bots, because it is important that your search engine results are not damaged. In addition, many malicious bots do not identify themselves as bots and try to appear as if they are real end users.

The surge in AI-powered and malicious bots is fueling a wave of traffic growth. We’re committed to navigating this evolving landscape while ensuring the integrity and performance of our services. To that end, if you are experiencing an issue, please open a ticket. Don’t assume that someone else has done so. We want to hear via a ticket if you are experiencing performance issues.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you updated on our progress.

Thank you for your ongoing trust and partnership.
