AI disclosures in CME activities

Hi all,

Our office is looking at options on how to operationalize ACCME’s guidance on the responsible use of AI in accredited CE. We’re particularly interested in how others are approaching AI disclosures within Ethos. We’d like to keep the workflow within the LMS.

For those that have already implemented it into practice:

  • How have you incorporated this into your existing disclosure/COI workflows?
    • Are you utilizing an independent form versus integration with the financial disclosure?
  • What level of detail are you requesting on the disclosure?
    • AI tool used, purpose, extent of use, etc.
  • Any templates or sample language you’d be willing to share?

Appreciate any insights on how you’re approaching this.

So far, we haven’t implemented anything to require our presenters to submit an AI disclosure, so I’m curious to hear how others are doing that if they are.

When I use AI to help with my rough drafts, I ask it to write an AI disclosure statement. (My prompt lists everything from the ACCME’s guidance to be included in the statement.) Then I clean that up and paste it in the “Faculty/Disclosures” section. I’m still playing around with formats. I’ve had some very clean, detailed ones, but I don’t love them in that field because they’re long and at the top of the page. But so far that’s the best place I’ve found to put them.
