Course Navigation User Interface Improvements

We’ve improved the learners’ course navigation experience by attaching the “Previous” and “Next” navigation buttons to the bottom of the web browser viewport. Now, when a learner scrolls through a course object, the bottom course navigation bar will always be visible and stay fixed to the bottom of the screen. This will also help learners with smaller screens who previously may not have seen the buttons on course objects with very little content.

New Administrative Role: Course Author

The new Course Author role provides a restricted course administrator experience. Users with this role are able to create and edit their own courses, but do not have access to delete them or edit courses created by others. The course author role can fully administer their own courses, including managing enrollments, creating and editing course objects and running reports.

New Course Grading Option: Average of selected quizzes

This improvement provides the ability to include multiple quiz results as an input into the final course grade. The final course grade is now an average of the learner’s quiz results within the course. The course administrator can select the quizzes to be included in the course grade by editing each quiz’s course object settings. This functionality is available in all instances of EthosCE.

Add support for schema.org’s course and event schemas to metatags

As part of an ongoing effort to improve the search engine optimization (SEO) of your EthosCE courses, we’ve added support for schema.org’s course and event schemas. Schema.org provides a standard for sharing data that is used by search engines to provide detailed search results in a special format for courses and live events.

Add support or TouchNet payment gateway

EthosCE now supports the TouchNet payment gateway. TouchNet is the leading provider of integrated, comprehensive and secure commerce and credentials solutions for colleges and universities. Please open a support ticket if you are interested in using TouchNet as a payment provider.
