EthosCE 7.51 Released

EthosCE 7.51 Release Notes

Sites will be updated per the release schedule. For a full list of changes, please review the changelog.

Time zone display on activity landing pages
EthosCE now supports user-selected timezone displays on all activity landing pages. Registered users are now able to select a preferred time zone display option by simply visiting their profile and selecting a timezone. EthosCE will automatically adjust any time displayed in the system to the user’s selected time zone.

We’ve also added some additional help text to our admin theme for a quick reference to the site’s local timezone. When administrators are selecting date/time fields in EthosCE, they will now see a reference to the global site time along with the time zone of origin. This aims to help administrators adjust start times and end times for events taking place in alternative time zones.

Faculty Management Add-on configuration enhancements
In version 7.48 we introduced various changes to our Faculty Management add-on in preparation for the upcoming ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence compliance. While delivering the upgraded Faculty Management experience, it became apparent we need to also provide a flexible solution for customers with alternative compliance standards and faculty data collection workflows.

In version 7.51, we are introducing an optional configuration that removes the central disclosure management requirement and mitigation strategy dashboard from the Faculty Management add-on experience. We believe this will allow our customers to utilize the robust form assignment and collection features built into the Faculty Management add-on, without the financial relationship and conflict of interest system requirements.

Activity reminders enhancements
As a continued effort to keep enhancing the experience of our most utilized system features, we received a lot of activity reminder feedback during one of our monthly user-led discussions. In version 7.51 we’ve added additional help text to active activity reminders which have been sent to enrolled learners. This help text provides a current count of users that received the reminder.

Warpwire usage report
In version 7.49, we rolled out our Warpwire add-on to all customers. Warpwire is the Cadmium video recording, hosting, and delivery solution for educational videos. Warpwire makes it easy to securely capture, analyze, share, and organize media. It works across devices, integrates with EthosCE, and is designed for education. All EthosCE customers are now able to store and deliver up to 5 videos for free. In order to facilitate the current usage metrics, we’ve added a Warpwire usage report within our administrative menu.

Bug fixes and other improvements
EthosCE 7.51 also includes various other improvements, bug and security fixes.

Awesome! Will the update allow us to send reminders to users in all currently open courses who have enrolled, but not yet completed the courses?

That should already be possible. Please see the Incomplete Activity example in the “Reminder recipes” documentation.

Do reminders need to be manually set up in each course, or can many reminders be sent at once from a dashboard list of courses containing learners who have not completed?

We do it for each course because each course requires a different message and a link back into that course.

There may be a way to send a reminder at the parent level, I’m not sure. It’s a good question.

I would love to have the ability to choose my reminders from a menu of my own reminder templates rather than having to enter them from scratch each time. Then I would update links, etc.

It’d be great if there was a function in the All Courses Dashboard where we could see a % of those who’ve completed each course. And then filter down the list & select/checkbox those low % courses, and send out a standardized reminder to all users who haven’t completed those courses. Would anyone else find this helpful?
