We purchased but have not implemented the integrated reporting feature between EthosCE and JA PARs. During our implementation period, while testing, we realized that EthosCE was reporting total enrollments in a learning session. When we asked Cadmium, the information we receive was that the ACCME definition referred to “engagement” which, to Cadmium, equated enrollments. I disagree, engagement = attendance. In a user group I participate in I heard a similar comment and frustration that this is the case. I would like to suggest that this be changed.
Thank you,
Laura Jackson
We have been seeing errors in Ethos → JAPARS reporting too. Our attendee numbers aren’t matching (one activity has a difference of over 100 people) and the custom alias/URL we use for our activities shows up in JAPARS as “https://default.com/node/123456.” The node ID is correct but the “default” part of the URL should be the Learning Group’s URL along with the custom alias we assign to the activity. We have a ticket submitted for these errors, but it’s good to know we’re not the only ones seeing a disconnect.
We will be turning on JAPARS integration soon. In our testing the one thing we noticed was users that didn’t have a complete profile – started it but didn’t finish are not sent to JAPARS because they had not completed the Enrollment Type field that indicates if they are a Physician, Nurse, etc. This also caused a mismatch in numbers.

We made this a required field in our instance of EthosCE, but everyone’s set-up is different so that may not work for you.
We do too but if they don’t complete the profile then the question is not answered.
EthosCE can block enrollment if a single profile field is not completed. Many clients have set this up to block enrollments when the field used to identify participant category for JA/PARS reporting is blank.
Below is an example of what is presented on the course landing page. If you need this, please open a support ticket.
Hi, does that also stop enrollment for RSS where they text their attendance? We have a rule set up where a learner is not allowed to enroll in a course unless their profile is complete but that only seems to be applied to courses and still allows the RSS attendees to text, get enrolled if a mobile number matches.
