Hello All,
Our team has had some difficulty trying to set up parent/child courses for multiday conferences. We’ve gone through several support topics and have reviewed the course relationship guides but continue to have issues. Anyone who has a good knowledge of how to use course relationships willing to chat with me?
Here’s our process - we create a parent course and have 4 child courses. We want the learner to select which child course to enroll and have that setting down. However, we test the course(s) we get stuck at the end where we are unable to roll up credit and receive certificate. Any guidance would be really helpful! Thanks! -Ana
There is a course object called “Credit Calculator” you use it in conjunction with the Agenda builder. We had these enabled a few months ago but have not had a chance to test this out. I think this is what you need but cannot say for sure.
Thanks, @ldjackson ! We don’t have credit calculator - how did you request these to be enabled and did it add any costs?
Hi Ana,
I went ahead and enabled the credit calculator tool on your site! Here’s a link to our documentation pages on the Agenda Lab tool and the credit calculator course object: EthosCE User Guide: Credit Calculator
Hope this helps!

Hi Ana,
In our parent/child with roll-up credit we use the following settings on the parent.
The Parent credit is active with the total Max credit for all
The Child Credit is Active for the amount of the child
I have Credit object on both Parent and Child outlines
Certificate object is on the Parent outline.
Nathan,
We do not seem to have the Credit Calculator on our site either. Is that something you can add, or do we need to put in a Ticket? Thanks,
Hi Betsy – Enabling credit calculator is an easy configuration on our back end, so I was able to go on in and enable it for you.
Thanks!

@nwhitney - When using the credit calculator, do you need to have “Roll-up” selected in the parent in order for the credit calculator to work?
Thanks,
Laura
Thanks, @betsy.lee ! What do you do for the time/date and “enrollment type”? One of our issues is that when we would expect the learners to claim credit, it shows that the course is expired and unable to register/take course.
hi Ana,
We give a wide range to the parent and child date and time to allow learners to enroll then go back to claim credit.
The main issue I’ve found with learners not being to access the child course after the date is that they enrolled from the parent and never went to the Child to click “Take Course”. If they don’t go to the child before the date, they never “started” the course. I go in and manually start the child course for all enrollees.
Enrollment Type questions need to be on the Parent as I’ve found most learners never click through to the child to Take Course and answer the questions prior to trying to claim credit.
