Question: How long do you allow learners to claim credits after a Live/Livestream course? We are looking to tighten up our process / policies around credit claiming. Thank you!
We allow learners to claim credit for 60 days and then close out.
Our organization allows 3 weeks. Our logic is that it still allows enough time for busy professionals to complete, it is still in the time frame where they will remember the full components of the activity, and it allows us as administrators to troubleshoot any accreditation-related information (ie wrong epid, MM/DD etc)
We allow 1 month but then give an additional 1 month buffer before closing the activity out.
Our organization keeps it open for two weeks. We send out reminders right after the live event ends, one week before the course expires, and one day before the course expires. Every once in a while someone misses the deadline, but it’s usually not an issue.
I love this conversation! We set each course to open as soon as the activity ends. We leave it open for 3 months, which I know is much longer than most other groups. We charge anyone who needs a certificate after that time. When we manage registration, we send out 2 reminders. For other activities, we let each group determine what is best.
Historically we left open for 1 week.
We just extended to 6 months.
For RSS we leave open 2 weeks, most of the RSS’s on our site have 2 sessions a month. This allows staff to move on to the next session. We send a reminder the day after the session and another before credit claiming will close. For a live conference we leave open for one month, first reminders when marked “attended”, or at a time that makes sense, and then weekly reminders after.
To ensure timely credit claiming, we’ve established the following time frames based on the type of activity:

Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS): 1 week

Recurring Courses: 1–2 weeks

Single Courses: 1 week

Multi-day Courses (e.g., Conferences): 1–2 months
Thank you everyone - we are looking at tightening ours down and this will help us determine the industry standard - looking like 1 month or less with multiple reminders.
For those that charge to open the course for persons to claim credit after the course is closed. How much do you charge? And do you have a product page for that?
