We are using email addresses to create profiles in Ethos (we are not using SSO). In its inception it was because the email is unique to that person and very rarely were there any duplicates. We encouraged our users to use their business/organization emails. This may have been a mistake. It turns out that our organization recycles emails [maybe others do as well]. We also can’t control what email the learner uses. So, if John.Doe@organization.org departs or is no longer with our organization the next John Doe will get that same exact email. Going on our 10th year with Ethos we are starting to encounter incidents where an old account is starting to get used by a new learner. All of them with emails they thought were unique to them. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a solution?
