Currently, we’re not able to link to a direct tab on a course page, unless the person receiving the link has never visited the page before.
If a person visited my page for “Sample Conference” and left the website after viewing the “Overview” tab, and I send them the link for the “Accreditation” tab, on clicking it, they will be sent to the “Overview” tab.
It would be ideal if tab links directed the user to the desired location, regardless of any previous activity. Being able to point to specific content consistently will directly impact customer service, marketing, and just make communication about course content more efficient.
THIS! We have wanted this forever. It’s only a few lines of JS code that make it function this way. Perhaps support would be willing to remove that?
Being able to link directly to a tab, or even having users land on the overview tab every time, would be better than having no way to know or control where the user lands. Especially for conferences when we have to say “go to the register tab, click on the session, go to the register tab AGAIN…,” it gets convoluted.
Agree as well. This is super annoying, I forgot about this and asked one of the staff to correct a reminder email last week. When I selected a course link in the email it took me to the Faculty page. Super annoying.
Thank you all for sharing your feedback on this thread. We’ve heard similar comments previously and want you to know that they are being actively considered as part of the upcoming upgraded version of EthosCE.
The current course flow includes logic designed to streamline the experience for learners who have already started or viewed course content, helping to reduce unnecessary clicks. Additionally, we’ve received feedback about conditional buttons on the Register tab—such as making buttons contextual based on whether a learner is enrolled or in progress. These enhancements are also under review for inclusion in the new version.
Thank you for providing that insight. Being able to link directly to specific content on our course websites would greatly improve navigation and allow us to direct people more efficiently. It’s is very confusing to tell someone we’re sending them the link to the “registration” tab of our course, but they are taken elsewhere.
Is there any information on when we’ll learn more about the upgraded version of EthosCE and what improvements are coming with it?
